Reiki, the journey, channeling alchemy:
I first started on this energy healing path many years ago.  My first experience with meditation took me places and showed me aspects of myself that I knew existed, but wasn't sure how to access.
I remember sitting to meditate for the first time, setting the timer or 15 minutes, and finding my center and ground, two hours later, I jolted back to the reality of the floor that I was sitting on, and the room that I was sitting in.
As I moved forward along this path, I had a chance to take Reiki with Eileen Wurst (Dey), I took the class and begin to realize that there were many paths to the center and that Reiki accessed the connection to body-mind-spirit, and past-present-future, simultaneously.   The first Reiki treatment that I received took me to the same place as my first meditation session!
I did feel immediately called to become a Reiki Master, I wanted to walk slowly through the process, to feel, really feel myself and my connection to the universe.
After taking Reiki, level 2, I knew that I wanted to proceed into the level of Reiki Master, knowing that working with the distance/time-space Reiki symbol would transform, help me recognize, and in some cases, empower me to remove the obstacle that I had placed in my path and life.
Reiki 3, confirmed it for me, I felt as if I were standing at the edge of the precipise, waiting to jump the gap,  I could literally feel my spirit wanting to jump to the next edge, and make the big change!
I felt the the sorcerer or the alchemist on the brink of a new elemental discovery.  My view of the world was changing at a rate so rapid that I simply relaxed into the process, and flowed with it.
I am so happy that I did, I am grateful beyond words, beyond description, for it was the beginning of  living a fully vibrant life, a life where I was comfortable and willing to feel/sense/be all of who I was, not just the nice bits.  My intuitive awarenesses shifted to greater levels, and I began the process of differentiating between what was mine, what I had taken on, and what I was ready to release.
Reiki 4, I began my journey through time for the origins or Reiki, for the correlations to Reiki in other times, belief systems, and pantheons.  I became the sacred warrior working her way through history, expanding my understanding of how many spokes there are to get to the center (like the Dharma wheel in Buddhism).  I continue to explore this path and to learn from civilations as ancient as China( 2500 BCE), at the emergence of acupuncture, to the modern day, Laser Reiki and bio feedback.

Why does Reiki work and how does the body feel it?
Reiki is a form of vibrational medicine.  Everything moves and vibrates, for energy is vibration, these words are moving, the table that my lap top is sitting on is millions upon millions of atoms moving together to create the form of a table.
The body, like quartz cyrstal is piezo electric, when molecules and particles, smash or bump into other of the same, change is facilitated, literally shifted in the fascia (a crystaline fluid structure that comprises the totality of the body), shifted in the joints-ligaments-tendons, and since Reiki affects all three levels of the body simultaneously (body-mind-spirit), often major shifts occur!

These changes feel like tingling, warmth, cold, radiating movement from one place on the body to another,  enhanced peripheral and auric senses, endorphic release, and sometimes, a taste like honey in the mouth (this is from the brain stem, and is called Amrita).

Reiki is always for the Highest good, the Reiki practitioner channels the healing to the highest good of the recipient, who has given their permission for the treatment.  The Treatment can be anywhere from 15 minutes to2 hours, but can feel timeless for everyone involved.
In distance Reiki, recipients and practitioners alike have noted the same feelings and awarenesses while being miles apart.

I have done Reiki treatments, where I was working with someone thousands of miles away, and after the treatment, made notes about the session.  The recipient did the same.  Our results were almost identical in the words that were used to describe what we were both feeling and sensing. There are times when both have written down the same phrase!

Reiki is not magic or manipulation, Reiki is a gentle, soothing and peace inducing healing technique, one of many that are effective in fascilitating a society of whole people.  Separateness is the illusion,
Connectedness is the reality.  Reiki to me, is flowing with the River of unconditional love and acceptance, Reiki just is..........
Reiki and Cancer:

The AMA (American Medical Association) recognizes and advises the use of Reiki for patients that are going through site specific tumor implants, radiation, and chemotherapy.  Reiki was proven efficacious in reducing the stress and feeling of isolation in cancer patients, helping with sleep patterns, and bringing a sense of ease due to the physcial pain of cancer.  Reiki is coming into it's own with the Western Medical Community!
