Sound Healing in the Classroom:
Teachers are now using intentional sounds in the classroom to create a calm and reduced stress learning space for the students.  Dialogs over the use of the music and intentional sound are being intiated by the students with tremendous success.  The students have felt that the inclusion of the healing sounds and music invites them to the academic work and helps them to focus their energies in more productive ways.
The channels of communication seem to be more fully engaged for all parties, and the cohesive and cooperative learning environment is created.  What do they seem to like?
Tuvian throat singing, native american flute, digeridoo, traditional world music styles.
Each of these areas of music helps to ground the students and to increase their focus.  This has especially been true with the high needs, ADD, ADHD, and  Bi-Polar students.
It is my hope that more and more teachers would utilize the language of the planet----sound.  Sound synchronizes in powerful and wordless ways, and brings forth feelings of community and connection.
Let us each, choose our sounds and words with care, let's build a strong and supportive community together.
